EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Connor is all about putting students at the heart of music and marching education. He wants them to take the lead in their learning journey, fostering a genuine love for getting better every day. In his lessons, Connor keeps things organized so that students can see how different skills fit together, understanding the purpose behind each exercise.
With a mix of activities and a step-by-step learning approach, students discover how music and movement go hand in hand. Connor prefers a "less talk, more action" style, encouraging questions but also letting students learn by watching, listening, copying, and practicing.
Success for Connor is all about giving students challenging but exciting experiences, making them look forward to the next rehearsal or lesson. A good session is one where each student takes a moment to think about how they did and tries to improve something in each round.
Connor isn't just about music – he believes the skills learned can connect to life outside. He wants students to see how being responsible, working in a team, and taking care of themselves physically and mentally are all part of the same picture. It's not just about music; it's about skills for life.
